How to Move Buildings in Manor Lords

11/05/2024 Vienna Kristy 349

Looking to rearrange your settlement in Manor Lords? Yes, you can move buildings, and the game refers to this as relocation. However, not all structures are eligible for this process, which is crucial to keep in mind if your medieval city-planning skills are a bit rusty. This guide covers the details of relocating buildings to help you expand your settlement efficiently.

Steps to Relocate Buildings in Manor Lords

To move a building in Manor Lords, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Building: Click on the building you want to move.

  2. Check for Relocation Icon: Look for the Relocate icon at the top of the building’s pop-up menu. This icon appears as a little plus sign.

  3. Initiate Relocation: Click the Relocate icon to move your building. You can place it wherever you like or hold down the left mouse button to rotate it.

Important Considerations

  • Deconstruction and Reconstruction: Relocation is not a simple drag-and-drop process. The building must first be deconstructed (which is quick) and then reconstructed at the new location (which takes as long as the initial construction).

  • Resource Management: While relocation seems free, it technically isn’t. Deconstructing a building returns the resources used to build it. You’ll need these resources to reconstruct it in the new location.

  • Eligible Buildings: Not all buildings can be relocated. Only the following structures can be moved and retain their upgrades:

    • Firewood Cart

    • Food Cart

    • Forager Hut

    • Forester’s Hut

    • Hitching Post

    • Hunting Camp

    • Logging Camp

    • Sawpit

    • Stonecutter Camp

    • Woodcutter’s Lodge

If you need to move other buildings, you’re out of luck. You’ll have to demolish them instead, which means losing all upgrades. For instance, demolishing a Level 3 Burgage Plot means you’ll have to start from scratch with a Level 1 plot. This can impact the Approval level of your settlement negatively, especially for key buildings like the Church or Tavern.

Plan Your Settlement Carefully

While you have some flexibility with the buildings that can be relocated, others will need careful planning to avoid negative impacts on your settlement’s growth and approval ratings.
