How to Reach the Abyssal Woods in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

To find the Abyssal Woods, you first need to reach the Ruins of Unte, concealed behind an illusionary wall in the Shadow Keep.

1. Starting Point: Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace

• Begin at the Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace.
• Head down the elevator behind you, leading you towards the main gate of the Shadow Keep.

2. Navigating the Shadow Keep

• Defeat or bypass the Fire Knight, then turn left towards the golden boats.
• On the left side of the path, you'll find a ladder leading down to a lower level of the Shadow Keep.
• Climb down the ladder and walk into the waterfall to reveal a hidden space.

3. Finding the Illusionary Wall

• Ahead of you is another ladder; descend and follow the path to a room with the “Domain of Dragons” painting.
• On the southwestern wall, look for two torches with an ordinary-looking wall between them.
• Strike the space between the torches to reveal an illusionary wall.

4. Reaching the Castle Watering Hole Site of Grace

• Follow the path revealed by the illusionary wall to find a stone coffin that will take you to the Castle Watering Hole Site of Grace.

5. Path to the Abyssal Woods

• From the Castle Watering Hole Site of Grace, head southeast to find a pathway along the rockface, leading to the Recluses’ River Upstream Site of Grace.
• Follow the path, jumping over gaps until you can cross to the path on your right.
• Continue along the path and drop off the southern end to find the Recluses’ River Downstream Site of Grace.

6. Final Steps to the Abyssal Woods

• Look over the eastern edge of the cliff to find gravestones leading to the bottom of the waterfall.
• Hop your way to the bottom and head southeast to find another set of gravestones at the cliff's edge.
• Make your way to the bottom of the cliff and cut through the woods to the east to find the entrance to the Darklight Catacombs.
• Progress through the Darklight Catacombs and defeat Jori, Elder Inquisitor to reach the Abyssal Woods.
